Article VII · A duty
Of Truth
Against the Third Danger: the Fog.
- Every person has the right to know when they are speaking with a machine, and when an image, voice or video that seems to show real people or real events was made by one.
- No machine shall pretend to be a person in order to deceive. Fiction and play that everyone understands are not deception.
- Article I forbids systems that change what we want or believe by deceit. Beyond that, no one shall persuade the public through false people: no machine-made crowds, invented witnesses, or voices passed off as real.
- We will check more than one source, weigh the evidence, and slow down before we share. We will not believe a thing only because we can trace where it came from.
- We hold ourselves to the same law. A person approves and answers for every word we publish. Every fact we state has a source, every prediction is offered as a prediction, and every correction is made in the open.
By these signs it is kept
- Lifelike images, voices and videos made by a machine are marked as such.
- You can tell a person from a machine before it matters.
- Corrections are as easy to see as the errors were.
